Dandelion is a herbaceous perennial plant used for both medicine and food for a long time. In oriental medicine, ointment made from crushed dandelion was for relieving fever, and treating abscess and other inflammatory disease. According to studies, dandelion extract showed anti-bacterial effect against S.aureus, S.epidermis and P.acne. Tts leaves and flowers contain vitamin C, E and hydroxycinnamic acid. Also, there are chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid and taraxasterol in roots, all of which are anti-oxidative substance.
