Flax is an annual plants originated from Central Asia and mostly cultivated for producing linen, a type of textile. After the fruits are ripen in fall, seed are collected. Flaxseeds are used for reducing the symptoms accompanied by Hansen's disease, pruritis and loosing hair. It is known that ancient Egyptian doctors possessed flaxseeds all the time in readiness for treating unexpected diseases or food. Also, Hippocrates is also known to use them for relieving inflammation. Early European applied flaxseed oil to reduce aches in muscle, and the word 'Liniment' came from here.
