Chia is originated from Southeastern Mexico and Guatemala and its seeds are important food ingredient in Latin America. Chia seeds contain lots of vitamin B, especially thiamine and niacin, and plentiful of minerals such as Ca, Mg, Mn, Zn, P, etc. Outer layer of chia seeds are covered by hydrophilic fiber and it becomes gel when it meets water. Glycoprotein from it shows not only good moisturizing effect on skin and hair but also anti-oxidant effect. Unsaturated fatty acids also give moisture to skin by blocking evaporation from epidermis.
