Aronia, called the Red chokeberry, belongs to the rose family and is indigenous to North America. In the Middle Age, Easten European regarded it as a versatile medicine. It is called 'King's berry' because novel people usually used it at that time period. It contains plentiful catechin and anthocyanin. Especially, the content of anthocyanin is 80 times more than that of grape and even 4 times more than that of Acai berry, so aronia is very powerful anti-oxidant. Also, it prevents wrinkles on skin by supressing the activation of MMP-1.
