Truco 4100 Aliphatic Polyurethane

Chemical Family
Polyurethanes (PU)

Truco 4100 Aliphatic Polyurethane is a technologically advanced, high solids, single component, moisture cure, bright white polyurethane elastomer coating uniquely formulated as a finish coat over 4102 Polyurethane in low slop roof restoration projects. Once cured this liquid applied moisture-curing polymer provides a durable, seamless, flexible, waterproof membrane that resists lateral movement, shear and will allow for normal expansion and contraction. Mil for mil, 4100 provides greater UV protection than similar aliphatic polyurethanes and offers increased resistance to moisture penetration through its lower moisture vapor permeability values. Due to its moisture-cure properties, a longer production window can be achieved during application versus water based acrylic coatings.

Recommended Uses

4100 was Specifically developed as a bright white protective top coat over a base coat of 4102 for EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen and SPF roof systems.. With excellent color retention and high durability, 4100 is used for protection, waterproofing, solar reflectivity and service life extension of these low slope conventional roof systems.

General Surface Preparation and Application Instructions

4100 may be applied by medium nap rollers, soft brushes or conventional airless spray equipment.; Apply 4100 only to clean, dry, sound coating surfaces free of loose particles or other foreign matter. Successive and/or top coats MUST be applied to the base or intermediate coats within 48 hours to insure proper adhesion.; Apply 4100 at the rate of 1.25 gallon per 100 sq. ft. per coat. Minimum dry mil thickness shall be 25 mils.; Do not apply if ambient temperature falls below 50° F.
