ShieldSys™ 346
ShieldSys™ 346 is a high-performance water-based, industrial coating designed to provide wires & cables with a highly lubricious, protective coating. When applied to a substrate, it exhibits outstanding anti-stick properties and has a very low coefficient of friction. ShieldSys™ 346 develops a long lasting thin-film that helps to facilitate wire jacket stripping, over-molding, and release characteristics.

- Storage and Handling
The precautions used in handling ShieldSys™ 346 release coating are the same as those used in handling most coatings in industrial use. Contact with the skin should be avoided. If spraying, care should be taken to avoid inhaling mist or vapors, just as sprayed paint inhalation should be avoided.. If this product is exposed to extreme heat conditions from misuse or equipment failure, toxic decomposition products that include hydrogen fluoride can occur. Always wash hands after handling ShieldSys™ 346 coating.

- Application Procedure
Dipping and Flooding – The easiest and most widely used method. A wiper system should be used to strip off excess amounts, ensuring a thin, even coating over the entire length of substrate.; Spraying – Particularly effective in depositing a very thin coating with excellent adhesion. This system can be used with an automated or hand spray gun.; Wiping or Brushing – Very effective for coating small amounts of selected areas on a wire or cable.
