AFCONA 3231 is a slip and leveling additive for metal and UV coatings that offers very good slip performance with an "oily" or "wet look" appearance to visually enhance film thickness. It is commonly used in industrial heat-cured systems, car refinish polyurethane clear topcoats, and other vehicle paint.

AFCONA – 3231 3031 is also widely used in UV coatings due to its good leveling and slip performance. However, it does not contain any reactive functional groups that can cross-link with UV resin systems.; Due to its high surface activity, AFCONA-3231 may interfere with adhesion if recoated without sanding. If air is introduced by the application equipment, we recommend the use of small amounts of a defoamer such as AFCONA-2020 or AFCONA-2022.; AFCONA – 3231 is recommended in the following systems: 1) 2K polyurethane, in which it gives low sensitivity to inner bubbles. 2) Industrial heat-cured systems where baking temperature is below 170ºC. 3) UV coatings, where it has a reduced foam stabilizing effect and good compatibility.
