AFCONA 3031 is a polyether modified polysiloxane slip and leveling additive used primarily in metal and UV coatings. It provides a very good slip performance, which is characterized by an "oily" or "wet look" appearance that can visually enhance film thickness. AFCONA 3031 is used in metal coatings, such as industrial heat-cured systems, car refinish polyurethane clear topcoats, and other vehicle paint.

- Product Features
AFCONA – 3031 is also widely used in UV coatings due to its good leveling and slip performance. However, it does not contain any reactive functional groups that can cross-link with UV resin systems.. Due to its high surface activity, AFCONA-3031 may interfere with adhesion if recoated without sanding. If air is introduced by the application equipment, we recommend the use of small amounts of a defoamer such as AFCONA-2020 or AFCONA-2022.
