Stanyl® TW271B6

Chemical Family
Polyamides

Stanyl® TW271B6 is a high-performance polyamide that provides unmatched performance and value for demanding applications in which superior heat resistance, design stiffness, wear and friction, and process flow qualities are required. This high-performance polyamide 46 is used for applications in automotive, E&E, gears, and outdoor power equipment. Since it retains its mechanical properties at high temperatures up to 220 °C, this makes it ideal for extremely high-performance applications, where it outperforms PPA, PA6T, PA9T, and often PPS and LCP. A suitable processing technology for the product is injection molding. Special features include being heat stabilized, wear modified, and friction modified.

Gears Application Data

Broad portfolio of high-performance polyamide materials for gears; Stanyl® PA46 grades consistently proven to outperform PA66 and POM; Stanyl® offers comparable but less expensive performance thank PEEK; High-performance Stanyl® grades enable more compact design and lightweighting opportunities; Advanced bio-based EcoPaXX® PA410 grades also available for a great combination of performance and sustainability

Application Data

Isolation of metal to metal contact aids in noise reduction; Wear and durability characteristics are 3 times better in relation with competitive wear resistant grades; Uneven wear of diaphragm spring fingers is nullified, eliminating premature failure of the clutch assembly; CRB flange hardness requirement can be reduced and hardening process for the bearing flange can be eliminated; Weight reduction which leads to a reduced load on the CRB sleeve, which improves lifetime of the sleeve multifold; Smooth operation and reduced clutch as a result of weight reduction; Simplified assembly procedure due to weight reduction
