- HIGHLIGHTS
Obesity is a condition of abnormal or excessive fat (calorie) accumulation in adipose tissue to the extent that health may be impaired. It is difficult to measure body fat directly but measurements of relative weight for height, such as the Body Mass Index (BMI) will indicate overweight and obesity in adults. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized obesity as an international health problem of staggering proportions. Obesity is associated with hypertension, dyslipidemia, type-2 diabetes, coronary artery disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, and cancers of the endometrium, breast, prostate and colon. Data from National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey of United States (NHANES) show that hypertension is the most common weight-related health condition, and the rates of hypertension increase with worsening obesity. Now more and more number of children are being diagnosed with obesity and obesity related disorders. Therefore, there is a need for new approaches to address obesity and their associated complications.. TeestarTM regulates the digestion and absorption of ingested food, thus managing calorie uptake
