AFCONA-5251 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments
- Storage Condition
AFCONA-5251 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
- Product Properties
AFCONA-5251 is a dispersant mainly developed for dispersing and stabilizing transparent iron oxide pigments. This results in:; Optimum transparency; Higher color strength; Flocculation stability; Lower viscosity; AFCONA-5251 could also be used as a dispersant for other inorganic pigments and extenders, where it reduces the viscosity in the dispersion. Therefore it is very useful in high filled systems. AFCONA-5251 differs from AFCONA-5051, because it is solvent-free. This makes this product very suitable in solvent-free or high solid applications AFCONA-5251 is recommended for manufacturing resin free or resin containing transparent iron oxide pigment concentrates for decorative as well as for industrial paints. Very stable concentrates up to 40% could be formulated. Note: AFCONA – 5251 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5°C. This will not influence the quality.
