SiliXan® U 310 E - 50/PM is urethane polymer with silicon ethoxy groups used as binder for the formulation of high quality UV stable clearcoats or pigmented coatings. The material shows good adhesion on metals like aluminum or stainless steel. For application on plastic like PC, PC-ABS or PMMA an adhesion primer is required.

The shelf life of the product is 6 months, provided the original container is stored tightly closed at +15 to +25 ° C. Opened containers should be processed shortly. The expiry date of each batch appears on the product label. Storage beyond the indicated period does not necessarily mean that the product is useless. However, in this case a review of the properties for the respective application is essential for reasons of quality assurance.

Drying conditions :; This raw material contains no isocyanate, hydroxy, carboxy or epoxy groups. Reactive groups of SiliXan U 310 E-50/PM are silicon alkoxy groups, which can be cured to Si-O-Si-bonds with tailor-made crosslinking catalysts (SiliXan® Cat) or with standard additives such as blocked acids, amines, compounds of Ti or Zr. The material can either be cured at room temperature with moistue or accelerated at temperatures between 40 ° C and 200 °C or shortly at 250 °C.; Solubility / thinnability :; SiliXan U 310 E-50/PM can be thinned with esters, ether esters, alcohols, xylene and toluene. The storage stability of the respective solutions must be tested. The raw material is unsoluble in water and in benzine. The solvents should have a water content <0,1%. Traces of water can lead to unwanted condensation reaction of slicon alkoxy groups.; Compatibility :; SiliXan U 310 E-50/PM is miscible with most coating raw materials such as resins and binders based on acrylate or polyester polyols or silicone type. The compatibility must be checked in particular cases.
