SalSphere® Natural Hair Growth Promoter (NHGP) is an off-white opaque paste with minimal odor. This product is a targeted delivery system that promotes hair growth and thickness through natural ingredients. Procyanidin oligomers from apples have been clinically shown to re-grow hair. SalSphere® NHGP is designed to preserve the potency of apple extract ingredients while targeting its delivery to hair follicles on the scalp. The purpose of SalSphere® is to increase the efficacy of the functional ingredient.

Stabilized Apple Extract SS NHGP contains purified and concentrated apple extract (procyanidin B2). The encapsulation stabilizes the extract, so that it can be used in practical topical formulations.; Effective Targeted Delivery Technology The SalSphere® technology delivers procyanidin B2 to hair follicles and as a result, the effects can be seen in a short time.; Demonstrated Clinically The efficacy of SS NHGP is supported by clinical studies. A study conducted with over 40 volunteers ages 25-60 have shown a significant increase in hair growth initiation after 21 days. The study revealed no adverse side effects. No patients complained of itchiness, pain, dryness or scaling of the scalp.
- Mechanism of Action
Utilizing fluorescent agents encapsulated in SalSphere® demonstrated the targeted delivery of the submicron spheres containing the active to the hair follicles. The targeted delivery of procyanidin B2 can specifically promote hair epithelial cell growth, activate specific regions of the hair follicle into the growing phase, and cause the follicular hair cycle to revert to the anagen phase from the telogen phase. Thus, it is suggested to be effective in curing male pattern baldness. Studies1 have shown that procyanidin B2 prolongs the hair growth cycle and shortens the rest cycle.. SalSphere® is available as a slurry. It is used as a raw material to formulate leave-in and rinse-off products. We recommend combining SS NHGP with SS Hair Stimulator for a synergistic effect. The combination of the technologies was found to be very useful because the cause behind thinning hair is not clear and a combination of technologies can be more effective to address the issue and get faster results. The two technologies deliver different functional ingredients and are compatible for formulation.
