- Usage and Dilution Recommendations
Where severe rusting conditions are likely to occur, use 6 ounces of 50-R per gallon of water. For less severe conditions, use 3 ounces of 50-R per gallon. Solutions should be applied in the final stage of the parts washer by spray or soak application. Solution temperature can vary from room temperature to 170°F. for steel parts and 60°F to 80°F for cast iron or sintered metal parts. Solutions that are properly maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations will give a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks of protection if packed wet, and 60 to 90 days of protection if packed dry. Parts exposed to excessively high humidity, rain, mists, water or salt spray, acid fumes or harsh environments will have reduced protection periods. May be used in hot or cold solutions, however, when inhibiting cast iron or sintered metals, it is strongly recommended that ambient or cold water be used.
