HydroSal™ Natural Antiseptic is a sub-micron delivery system ranging from 0.1 to 0.9 microns in diameter (Figure 1). The technology consists of a porous core infused with a blend of botanical extracts and a polymer shell that facilitates the release of the ingredients.. When HydroSal™ Natural Antiseptic is applied to skin or surface and the water from the formulation evaporates, the shell locks down onto the porous core. This forms a diffusion barrier from which the botanical oils can be slowly released for long-lasting protection against microorganisms. Additionally, the shell is designed to provide a burst of release when exposed to moisture. The shell reseals when the moisture evaporates, allowing additional bursts of antibacterial protection when it is needed most.
