Kolorcure Activator #7 (8209) is an activator which is used to enhance cure rates of Kolorcure inks and coatings. While KOLORCURE screen inks and coatings are supplied “ready to use” there are certain conditions when the addition of these activators will be desired. Activator #7 (8209) serves as photoinitiators (light activated catalyst) that will assist the curing process when faster line speeds or thicker ink deposits are required.

The use of goggles, gloves, and protective clothing is recommended. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors. Contact of liquid material with the skin may be irritating; wash exposed area thoroughly with soap and water. Contact of liquid with the eyes may cause injury – effects may be delayed; flush eyes with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and call a physician. Like most polymers, the properly –cured resins are considered largely inert.

- Special Notes
Kolorcure additives become an integral part of the cured ink or coating film. The use of excessive amounts of these products may affect cure speed, flexibility, or adhesion. Once the KOLORCURE screen ink or coating has had an additive added, the user should verify that the product still performs to their satisfaction.. All UV inks and coatings are sensitive to contamination. Use only new screens or those previously used for UV printing. Do not add any conventional ink or solvents to the inks. They are most likely not compatible and will destroy all properties.
- Directions for Use
A powerful activator to be used in opaque colors to improve cure speed and adhesion.; Typically, 2-4 percent by weight of KOLORCURE Sensitizer is added to clear coatings and 4-8 percent to ink when required.; NOTE: Addition of sensitizer may reduce the shelf life of KOLORCURE inks and coatings.
- Storage and Handling
All KOLORCURE photopolymer inks and coatings should be stored in a cool dry area: 800F (270C) or below. Keep these sensitizers away from direct sun light and indirect white light. Do not use these sensitizers in areas having fluorescent lights overhead. Under proper storage conditions, shelf life is a minimum of one year from date of manufacture.
