It is sourced from the microalgae, Haematococcus pluvialis, and occurs in its naturally esterified form. This product is available in North and South America.

AstaReal® CWS25 is made in the USA from cultivation to extraction. The algae are cultivated in our proprietary fully enclosed indoor cultivation facility in Moses Lake, WA. Indoor cultivation allows optimal algal productivity and harvest timing for best astaxanthin content and stability. AstaReal® Astaxanthin is then extracted from whole algae using a solvent free supercritical fluid carbon dioxide extraction method. The resulting natural astaxanthin oil contains 10% AstaReal® Astaxanthin together with naturally occurring algal lipids. This 10% astaxanthin oil is then microencapsulated in Japan by AstaReal's parent company, Fuji Chemical Industries Ltd., Co. in order to provide superior aqueous dispersion.
