The AMPARMOR® 3000 series is a uniquely engineered microcapsule containing a patented healing agent blend based on epoxy functionalized alkyd polymers, co-crosslinking agents/enhancers and adhesion promoters. These microcapsules are designed for coating applications where coating self-healing is needed for extended coating durability. The AMPARMOR® 3000 series is recommended for use in solvent-based, water-based and powder coatings, and is compatible with most coating resin types including epoxy, polyester, alkyd, urethane and acrylic systems.

- Performance
Coating performance enhancements obtained through the use of the AMPARMOR® 3000 series self-healing additive will be dependent on both product add rate and base coating native performance. In an optimized coating formulation, addition of as little as 2.5 wt.% can result in dramatic improvements in both corrosion resistance (on metal substrates) and weather or mechanically induced coating adhesion loss (on metal and wood substrates). For solvent-borne coatings which typically require the dry final form (AMPARMOR® 3013), maximum performance is usually obtained at an add rate of 7.5 wt. For water-borne coatings which typically require the wet final form (AMPARMOR® 3011), an add rate of 5 wt.% is recommended. All add rates (wt.%) suggested here are based on total formulation weight.

- Storage Stability
Store in dry area below 90°F (32°C), keep container closed and out of direct sunlight and any moisture or external contaminants. Always use good manufacturing practices.
- Coating Thickness Guide
The AMPARMOR® 3000 series is recommended for coatings and resins that are applied at dry film thicknesses of at least 4-5 times the average particle size of the additive.
