Maintain® LST
- Chemical Name
- Amylase, Cellulase, Lipase, Protease
- Chemical Family
- Enzymes
MAINTAIN® LST is a bacterial enzyme blend available as a stabilized liquid concentrate for the manufacture of grease traps, septic tank, drain, and RV holding tank treatment products. MAINTAIN® LST is ready to dilute and package. The concentrated components of MAINTAIN® LST save on shipping costs. It is designed to be diluted 9:1 to make the finished product.

- Unit Definitions
Bacterial Amylase ‐ One bacterial amylase unit (BAU) is defined as that quantity of enzyme which will dextrinize one milligram of starch per minute at pH 6.6 and 30°C.; Cellulase ‐ One cellulase unit (CU) is defined as the amount of activity that will produce a relative fluidity change of 1 in 5 minutes in a defined carboxymethyl cellulose substrate under the conditions of the assay (pH4.5 and 40°C).; Lipase‐ One unit of enzyme activity (FIP Unit) is defined as that quantity of a standard lipase preparation (Fungi Lipase‐International FIP Standard) that liberates the equivalent of 1μmol of fatty acid per minute from the Substrate Emulsion under the described assay conditions.; Protease -One bacterial protease unit (PC) is defined as that quantity of enzyme that that produces the equivalent of 1.5 mg per mL of l‐tyrosine per minute under the conditions of the assay.
- Storage Condition
For optimal activity store in cool dry place under 90°F. Standard shelf life under these conditions is 1 year.
- Benefits and Features
Lipase to break down fats and oils in biodegradable components. Amylase, protease and cellulase to digest starches, proteins, and paper waste quickly. 5 Bacteria strains to keep tanks running smoothly after product addition.
