The Malagasy people of Madagascar have been using Ravintsara for decades for its great antiviral properties. Recently, this oil has been set in the spotlight in aromatherapy for its great therapeutic properties. Every blend produced nowadays aiming to sanitize the air or fight against the flu, contains Ravintsara. Cinnamomum Camphora rich in cineole from Madagascar needs to be differentiated with the original Cinnamomum Camphora grown in China which is rich in linalol. The tendency of Ravintsara plantation towards dense and dark environments has allowed us to introduce permacultural concepts such as using the Ravintsara trunk to tudor vanilla orchids.
