Galaxy™ SLS Needles (Red)
- CAS Number
- 151-21-3
- Chemical Name
- Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
Galaxy™ SLS Needles (Red) belong to the categories of anionic surfactants and emulsifiers & demulsifiers within the cleaning ingredients hierarchy. These red SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) needles are designed for use in the HI&I (Household, Industrial, and Institutional) care sector, with a specific focus on Home Care applications, particularly surface care and detergents. These SLS needles offer several key features and benefits, including effective detergency, emulsifying capabilities, alkaline stability, and good compatibility with various formulations. They are solid in physical form and are conveniently packaged in bags.

- Attributes
Galaxy SLS Needle (Red) is an anionic surfactant in needle form. It has excellent foaming power and detergency property. It is also a good emulsifier. It is most effective under alkaline conditions (pH > 7.5). It can be used with other anionic, non-ionic or amphoteric surfactants. However, due to its anionic character, it should not be used with cationic components like cationic surfactants, cationic dyes, etc.
- Safety Information
Spills should be contained / collected and disposed off as per the regulations. Avoid ingestion and inhalation (when concentration in air is high, use appropriate mask) and also avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. In case of contact with eyes, seek adequate and timely medical attention.
- Applications
Galaxy SLS Needle (Red) used as colored speckles in detergents at concentration of 0.5 - 1.0 % to improve its esthetic appeal.
- Packaging Information
Galaxy SLS Needle (Red) is available in HDPE lined paper bags of 20 kg net wt. 560/700 bags palletized i.e. 11.2/14 MT or 750 bags non-palletized i.e. 15 MT can be shipped in a 20 ft. box container. It can also be supplied in 500 kg jumbo bags with wooden crate. 20 palletized jumbo bags i.e. 10 MT can be shipped in 20 ft. container.

- Storage and Handling Information
Store the material in a clean, dry place below 35°C away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture.; In the original sealed condition, when stored as suggested, the shelf life of the product is at least one year.; Slight pH drop is possible over prolonged storage.; In case of drop in pH, it is fairly safe to use the material as long as the pH is ≥ 7.0.; Soft, easily breakable agglomerates may be formed on storage.; Since the material is hygroscopic in nature, use the product within a week after opening the bag.; During storage, to avoid lumping, do not stack more than 8 bags (non-palletized) one above the other and if palletized, single pallet on ground or in pigeon hole.; Jumbo bags should be stored only with crates and should not be stacked one above the other during storage.
