PAT-ADD DA 801 is a polymeric dispersing agent for use in solvent-borne and solvent-less paints, inks and colorants. PAT-ADD DA 801 is multifunctional and compatible with a wide range of apolar and polar solvent-borne paint systems. Although, PAT-ADD DA 801 is multifunctional and applicable to most pigments, it is particularly effective as dispersant for carbon black

- Benefits
A universal dispersant; Optimizes the milling process, enabling high pigment loading; Provides excellent color development; Solvent-free; Strong prevention of pigment flocculation, floating, flooding, and pigment settling; Wide range of compatibility, in solvent-borne, solvent-free as in most waterborne formulations; For industrial, architectural paints, for printing inks and colorants
- Appearance
- Clear yellowish liquid
- Properties
PAT-ADD DA 801 is a polymeric dispersing agent showing strong adsorption properties onto a wide variety of pigment surfaces, contributing to best dispersion stability. PAT-ADD DA 801 is strongly adsorbed onto inorganic pigments and extenders, contributing to enhanced steric stabilization against re-flocculation.
- Application
Multi-purpose pigment wetting agent and dispersant, for color pigments, in air-drying paints, RMPC and most industrial systems. Excellent wetting. - Addition and Dosage
The optimal amount of PAT-ADD DA 801 to be used is system related, but generally is between 0.4 and 1.5% PAT-ADD DA 801, calculated on the total weight of paint formulation. The product is added to the mill-base prior to the dispersion process. For use as dispersing agent in inks, a dosage between 0.7 and 3% on total weight of the ink, is typically required. For use in pigment concentrates and colorants higher levels are suggested, such as 3 to 10% PAT-ADD DA 801 on total weight of the pigment dispersion formula. The optimum concentration to be used depends on the individual requirements and conditions.
