BioPBS™ FX83AC
- Chemical Family
- Polyesters
BioPBS™ FX83AC is a bio-based polybutylene succinate adipate (PBSA) produced through the polymerization of bio-based succinic acid, 1,4-butanediol, and adipic acid. Similar to LDPE, BioPBS™ is a soft and flexible semi-crystalline polyester with outstanding properties that make it suitable for cast extrusion and extrusion coating applications, such as compostable paper cups. FX83AC has been specifically developed for use in home compostable 1-sided coated paper, designed for hot and cold beverage applications.

- Notes
* Based on coating thickness 25 μm and paper weight 250 gsm under pressure 0.5 MPa for 1 second ** FX83AC can achieve home compostable only in coated paper form. Since paper impacts compostability, customer will be responsible to conduct their own tests to achieve certificate.

- Product Features
Similar processability as LDPE; Processable in LDPE extrusion coating machine; Excellent adhesion to paper; Superior heat sealability; Excellent printability without pre treatment; Low coating thickness; Bio content 45-50%; All components certified compostability by BI and TUV; Food contact approved by FDA (FCN No.1818) and JHOSPA, and comply to EU10.2011
- Storage Condition
BioPBSTM pellet is dried and packed in aluminum-lined packaging before delivering to customers. Pre-dry of the unopened BioPBSTMis not necessary. It is recommended to keep packages sealed until ready to process and using up the whole 25-kg bag. Unused material should be tightly sealed, kept away from open air, and pre-dried (Temperature 80°C for over 5 hour) to moisture content of less than 1,000 ppm (preferable less than 700 ppm) prior to using next time. Do not store outdoors. Keep dry at ambient temperature. Avoid humid environment, heat and direct sunlight. Use material within 6 months after delivery date, in order to prevent possible material quality deterioration.
