- Plant Extracts
Tigerlac 5061 are flaked shellacs that are dewaxed and physically decolorized natural resins. The single products differ in the degree of decolorization and yield transparent solutions of different color shade in various solvent systems. Ready for use solutions of the product are available. The Tigerlac 5061 are Flaked Shellac manufacturing process guarantees careful treatment of the natural raw materials (seedlac) upon refining. The final products are high quality materials with excellent binding and film forming properties. They are physiologically harmless and biodegradable.

- Major Applications
Wood coatings and glazes, flexographic printing inks, India inks, leather finishing, hat proofing, cosmetics (e.g. hair sprays, shampoos), confectionary and fruit coatings, direct food contact materials (packagings), raw material for shellac special products.
- Storage and Transport
The shelf life of TIGERLAC™ 5061 Flaked Shellacs will be more than 2 years if stored/transported at temperatures < 20 degrees C. Higher temperatures will accelerate aging of solid material and raise the risk of "blocking" especially under the influence of humidity. Because of reasons mentioned above, we recommend refrigeration during transport during the warm summer months.
- Certifications and Compliance
- FDA Compliant

- Leather
- Solutions in Organic Solvents
TIGERLAC™ 5061 Flaked Shellacs are readily soluble in low-molecular weight alcohols (e.g. ethanol, n- and isopropanol) and some glycol derivatives (e.g., propyl glycol, butyl glycol), in benzylalcohol and others.
