BECKOCOAT® VPU 6072/38LG is a moisture-curing polyurethane resin, free from xylene, with a low content of free toluenediisocyanate. Primarily employed as a crosslinking agent and binder, this glossy resin finds applications in floor sealers, wood coatings, and interior concrete impregnation. It belongs to the category of 2K (2-component) and solventborne coatings, making it suitable for EIFS and insulation purposes.

- Storage and Handling
At temperatures up to 25°C storage stability packed in original containers amounts to at least 365 days.; Discharge and Package; One component polyurethane resins cure under influence of humidity, for this reason it is necessary to insure that the packing is absolutely dry and tightly scaled after drumming. Even the solvents used should be completely free from traces of water. Based on our experience the use of tin-plated containers is suited for prolonged storage. Glass containers should not be used because traces of alkali may lead to gelation. Even polyethylene containers are unsuitable due to solvent diffusion.; Synthetically bleached or acid cured wood coatings generally tend to discolor films. When using floor sealants based e.g. on BECKOCOAT in rooms with unfavorable freshly applied emulsion paints and plasters a discolouration can be observed. This appearance is with BECKOCOAT® VPU 6072 greatly reduced; even though a thorough evaluation is recommended.; The use of coatings based on BECKOCOAT® VPU 6072 on various substrates and their condition (e.g. old coated surfaces, pretreated surfaces etc.) should also first be examined to insure sufficient prolonged endurance.
- Distinguishing Features
BECKOCOAT® VPU 6072 contains less free TDI than BECKOCOAT® PU 428 and is free from xylene.
- Special Properties and Uses
Free TDI < 0,5 % (f.o.d.); Rapid curing; Very high gloss; Excellent durability; High impact resistance, good adhesion Floor sealers, wood coatings, concrete impregnation for interior use. Together with alkyd resins as crosslinker for two-component systems.
