SETALUX® 17-1745
- CASE Ingredients Features
- Excellent Scratch ResistanceFaster Cycle TimeImproved HardnessLong Potlife
SETALUX® 17-1745, an acrylic polyol with 2.0% OH, is tailored for use with aliphatic poly-isocyanates in 2-component coating systems. This resin ensures a quick surface and through drying, coupled with a prolonged pot life. Offering good chemical resistance, excellent mar and stain resistance, and compatibility with cellulosic film formers, SETALUX® 17-1745 is ideal for solventborne coatings, primers, base coats, 2K and 1K coatings, and solventless/high solids coatings on wood and plastics. Notable features encompass faster cycle time, long potlife, improved hardness, and excellent scratch resistance.

- Storage and Handling
In the original sealed containers, this product is stable for 3 years at temperatures up to 100°F.; Care should be taken not to expose the product to high temperature conditions, direct sunlight, ignition sources, oxidizing agents, alkalis or acids.; Storage and handling should be in stainless steel, amber glass, amber polyethylene or baked phenolic lined containers.; Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep container tightly closed. Use with adequate ventilation.
- Performance Highlights
Excellent drying properties; Excellent compatibility with cellulosic film formers; Good outdoor durability; Good flexibility and chemical resistance properties
- Curing
CURING WITH POLYISOCYANATES Based on 100% conversion of reactive groups the following equation can be used to calculate the quantity of polyisocyanate needed for crosslinking 100 parts (insert product name) (on solids):; Polyisocyanate (f.o.d.) = 42 x 100 x OH% (solid resin) / 17 x NCO% (f.o.d.); 42 = molecular weight of the NCO-group; 17 = molecular weight of the OH-group; Anhydrous solvents as well as solvents free of hydroxyl functional groups should be used in the presence of polyisocyanates, as dilution solvents.
