Anti-Bacteria

P-Coumaric Acid shows good ability in inhibiting growth of several microbe.; p-coumaric acid (µg/ml)); Gram-positive bacteria; Gram-negative bacteria; Lou Z, Wang H, Rao S, et al. P-Coumaric acid kills bacteria through dual damage mechanisms[0]. Food Control, 2012, 25(2):550-554 The p-coumaric acid was tested for antibacterial potential against Gram-positive (S. pneumoniae ATCC49619, B. subtilis 9372, S. aureus 6538) and Gram-negative bacteria (S. dysenteriae 51302, E. coli ATCC25922, Salmonella typhimurium 50013). The MIC values for p-coumaric acid are shown in Table 1. A comparison of the sensitivities of the bacterial strains to p-coumaric acid indicated that the strongest inhibitory effect was against S. dysenteriae. pCoumaric acid showed MIC value of 10 mg/ml in the case of S. dysenteriae
