OCTOPOL SIB

Chemical Family
Hydrocarbons

Octopol SIB is a high sulfur-containing hydrocarbon useful as an EP agent, film strength improver and mild oxidation inhibitor in the preparation of industrial gear oils, cutting oils, and metalworking applications and greases. The Octopol SIB demonstrates good solubility in mineral oils as well as great thermal stability. It is generally used with other components to produce additives and fluids for gear or metal-working applications. The recommended, typical treating range is 0.50 – 10 % depending on the application; however, it is suggested that lab testing information be used for acceptable performance levels

Storage and Handling

Containers should be kept tightly closed. Make sure the part drum is used quickly and that all stock is rotated on a first-in, first-out basis. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use with adequate ventilation. Shelf life expected two years from date of manufacture provided the material is stored at proper temperatures and containers remain tightly closed. Store at 40 – 140 deg. F. Read MSDS before handling.
