Deuteron® MK-F
Deuteron® MK-F is an organic duromeric matting agent suitable for a wide range of coating applications, including water-borne, solvent-borne, and 100% systems. These matting agents can be employed as stand-alone additives or in conjunction with other materials to enhance their properties. The distinctive synthesis of Deuteron MK matting agents results in highly amorphous particle structures with a comparatively high surface area (BET), making them outstanding matting agents.

- Dosage Information
Typical addition range: 1 %–15 %.. The required dosage level highly depends on the system (e.g. binder type, additives, solvent content) and appli- cation parameters. Thus, it is highly recommended to determine the needed addition level by a practical ladder study.
- HIGHLIGHTS
Micronized matting plastic, heat-resistant up to 200°C, not soluble in organic solvents, light-resistant, weather resistant, easily incorporable into solvent based and water based systems. Available in four particle sizes.. Fine and very fine grades. Both grades lead to a smoother, almost waxy appearance with nice haptics. Typically used for thin-film applications
- Applications
Deuteron® MK-F can be used in almost all coating applications ranging from water-borne and solvent borne to 100 % systems. They can be used as stand-alone additives or in combination with other materials to further improve their properties. Because of the wide range of available particle sizes the Deuteron® MK-F range is suitable for thin and thick film applications.

- Waterborne Coating
- Processing Recommendation
The PMU chemistry in general is highly compatible in a wide range of systems. Due to that Deuteron® MK-F mat- ting agents can be incorporated easily by a high-speed stirrer without the need for specific wetting agents or dispersing aids. They are shear stable in high shear pro- cesses but should not be ground in a bead mill.
- Compatible Substrates and Surfaces
- Wood
- Handling Conditions
24 months at room temperature and dry conditions.; Storage temperature should not exceed 35 °C.
