Tramfloc® 1040 Tablet Flocculant
- Chemical Family
- Polyacrylamides
Tramfloc® 1040 tablet flocculant is a fast release anionic, granular polyacrylamide polymer of very high molecular weight produced as an effervescent tablet. Tramfloc® 1040 is completely water soluble and safe to apply. Tramfloc® 1040 is used to control erosion in agricultural fields, on river banks, on construction slopes, to precipitate solids in muddy water bodies, mineral slurries, mine tailings, and in marble and granite cutting.

- Benefits
Tramfloc® 1040 tablets are very efficient soil conditioners applied to control erosion in agricultural applications.; Agriculture consumes approx. 70% of the world's soft water but two-thirds is lost to evaporation, run-off and percolation into the soil.; The judicious application of Tramfloc® 1040 soil conditioners can reduce water losses by 35%. Depending upon the type of soil and method of irrigation, Tramfloc® 1040 increases the amount of water available to the roots while lowering the overall consumption of irrigation water.; Water run-off, erosion, and lixiviation are greatly reduced, increasing savings in completion products such as fertilizers and soil amendments.; Simple injection into the irrigation water system or slow tablet dissolution allows just a few ppm of polyacrylamide to viscosify the water. It will then form aggregates of fine particles on the soil's upper level where roots are formed. These aggregates will change the soil's porosity and enhance the water retention.; Under most irrigation conditions about one-third of the water loss is due to run-off and lixiviation.; Independent studies and full-field testing conducted in both the USA and Pacific Rim have demonstrated that the same production is reached while irrigating less frequently and applying less water per occurrence.; Tramfloc® 1040 also reduces the losses by lixiviation of nutritional elements which are stored in the rooting zone prior to uptake.; Tramfloc, Inc. also makes these special polyacrylamides in tablet, granular and emulsion forms to suit almost every application.
- PACKAGING
Tramfloc® 1040 is available in 44 or 20 kgs net weight pails, packed 36 pails/pallet. Each tablet weighs 50 grams and has a 45 mm diameter. There are about 440 tables per pail.

- Mixing and Dosage
For settling of soil fines, mineral fines or general debris, Tramfloc® 1040 should be dosed at the rate of one tablet to 250 gallons of water will produce a 5 ppm dosage. The product mixes evenly with proper agitation of < 400 rpm and is quite stable. The tablet is of particular importance where capital intensive polymer make down equipment would be impractical to install. Tramfloc® 1040 tablet flocculant does not require expensive dosing systems, can fed added to water tanks.
