Procapil Analog
A comprehensive complex preparation for the treatment of alopecia and stimulation of hair growth - a functional analog of Procapil. The combination of three active substances in high concentration allows the creation of modern, effective cosmetic products for stimulating hair growth and combating hair loss. Developed by STM Materials laboratory with significantly increased concentrations of active components compared to the original Procapil.

Active Ingredients
- A peptide consisting of three amino acids (glycine-histidine-leucine), modified with a biotin molecule. It has a direct effect on the hair follicle. Stimulates the synthesis of important adhesion proteins - laminin and collagen. These proteins play an important role in the functioning of the hair follicle, they affect the resistance of hair to mechanical stress and reduce hair loss. In addition, biotinoyl tripeptide-1 increases the proliferation of keratinocytes in the follicle and thus accelerates hair growth.
- A terpene compound of natural origin, contained in the fruits and leaves of the Olive tree. It has anti-inflammatory effects and is a 5α-reductase inhibitor. The enzyme 5α-reductase converts testosterone into more active dihydrotestosterone, which binds to androgen receptors in hair follicles and shortens the hair growth phase (anagen). Oleanolic acid prevents the conversion of testosterone and thereby prolongs the growth phase and prevents hair loss.
- A compound of the flavone class; a natural antioxidant. It exhibits anti-inflammatory activity and stimulates the division of hair papilla cells. It reduces the expression of TGF-β - a cytokine that regulates cell division. Due to this; apigenin increases the proliferation of keratinocytes and accelerates hair growth.
Clinical Efficacy
- Clinical trials of a combination of procapil; adenosine; 2,4-diaminopyrimidine oxide; biotin; and ginkgo biloba demonstrated effectiveness in 79% of patients with androgenic alopecia.
- Trials of a combination of procapil with caffeine and zinc PCA demonstrated effectiveness in 68% of patients with androgenic alopecia.

- Analog of
- Procapil (Sederma)
- Application
Hair growth stimulation, anti-hair loss treatment
- Usage Rate
- 1-2%
- Incorporation Temperature
- Not above 40°C
- Mechanism of Action
Inhibits 5α-reductase enzyme, preventing testosterone conversion to DHT; Stimulates synthesis of laminin and collagen in hair follicles; Increases keratinocyte proliferation; Reduces TGF-β expression, promoting cell division; Exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties; Extends hair growth phase (anagen); Reduces hair loss
- Composition Analysis
Since the Procapil manufacturer does not specify component concentrations anywhere, HPLC (liquid chromatography) was used to determine the composition. During the development of the complex, the concentrations of active components were significantly increased, which allows for a reduced percentage in the finished product or increased effectiveness when using the analog.
