Silsoft™ 1217 is a volatile, low viscosity cyclic siloxane fluid for use in skincare, color cosmetics, hair care, and antiperspirant applications. Compared to other cyclic siloxanes, Silsoft™ 1217 is much less volatile. Silsoft™ 1217 is non-polar and insoluble in water but completely miscible in lower alcohols and aliphatic solvents. Silsoft™ 1217 can be blended with other volatile cyclic siloxanes and with silicone oils in any ratio.
