- Product Features
Liquid additive for waterborne coatings. Reacts with metal cations to form stable organic complexes chemically bonded on the metal substrates, providing a stable and effective chemical passivation.; Ready-to-use and easy to incorporate liquid; Compatible with most waterbased binders; Eco-friendly additive (Complies with main environmental-friendly labels); Synergic action with antiflash-rust additives; Doesn't change color of coatings
- Application
ASCOTRUST® X4 is added to waterborne coatings directly applied on rusted or poor-prepared ferrous substrates. It ensures an effective blocking effect on residual rust, and avoids its migration through the fresh paint film.; Its passivation properties on rust allow to maintain good anticorrosion performances of the coatings, despite the adverse substrate conditions.; It doesn't compromise the coating anticorrosion performance on non-rusted substrates.; ASCOTRUST® X4 is mainly designed for waterborne white or colored pigmented coatings, based on various binder technologies: acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, PU.; It is recommended to use an organic-type anticorrosion agent when ASCOTRUST® X4 is added to a metal paint formulation.
