ASCONIUM® 500 is a ready-to-use, multifunctional organic liquid additive for metal coatings. It provides active corrosion inhibition, promotes adhesion, and enhances water resistance. Suitable for replacing powder-form anticorrosion pigments or improving their performance, it is heavy metal-free, VOC-free, and compatible with most binders. ASCONIUM® 500 delivers multi-metal protection and is ideal for high-gloss DTM, primers, and waterborne coatings on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial applications.

It can be used to replace powder-form anticorrosion pigments or to enhance their performance through synergistic mechanisms.

The ASCONIUM® 500 can be added to any type of liquid metal coating for industrial, professional or do-it-yourself use, primers or direct-to-metal systems. It has been specifically designed for water-based formulations based on acrylic, alkyd, epoxy and PU binders, both pigmented and clear-coatings. It is suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
